CLOSED P3D v4 Crashes on Reload User Object or Plane Switch WX Radar

Recommended Posts

Hello

I don't want to piggyback on another user reports, but having the same issue.

Brand new P3d v4 install (Only Active Sky, ORBX stuff and Carenado Payware Bonanza A36)

Just installed the WX Weather Radar and Latest Update, wxradar_20180725.zip

Installed on the Bonanza A36

Radar seems to work fine until I try to Reload User Object or Switch planes.
P3D crashes to desktop. (with or without the WX Radar turned on or showing the popup)

Removing the Window or gauge entries fixes the problem, so the culprit is either  MV_WX!WX2 or MV_WX!WX

 // gauge00 = MV_WX!WX2D,0,0,419,381,1
 // gauge01 = MV_WX!WX,64,121,291,205,1

Thank You

Hi there,

This looks like it may possibly be a different crash...can you please duplicate the crash, then go to Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application and post the error that relates to the crash?

This is the same thing that was happening to me. I fixed the problem by just uninstalling the program. I had it loaded on one plane and it worked fine. But if I tried to load any other plane even with the gauge not installed on the plane it crashed. I got no errors in the Event Viewer for any of it. Like I said I removed the App from my machine and all worked great. Just look at my old post.  John

Hello

John; my sim does not CTDs  with the WX Radar Installed. Only crashes when I put or enable those gauges on the panel.cfg

That's what happened to me if I uninstall the gauge from the plane I still had the CTD. I don't know maybe it is different. these F.R.E.D.'s can do weird things.

Hi there,

This looks like it is part of the same CTD issue that we are fixing. Thank you for your patience in this matter.

As we are developing this, if you would like to assist in testing through our Insider Program, feel free to email: support@rexgamestudios.com

Just as another data point, with Win10/P3Dv4.3 I am having the same issue as described above but with the Flysimware Lear35 and MU-2B aircraft which have the WX radar mounted in the VC panel. Every attempt to reload the aircraft, or to switch to any other aircraft, immediately results in a CTD. However, the WX radar works fine in the Lear35 or MU-2 as long as no attempt is made to reload or change the aircraft.

Regards,

Al
