CLOSED Windows not compatible

Recommended Posts

Hi,

When I try to open the setup file to install Rex4, I get the message that the version of Windows I use is not compatible with this file.

I am running on Windows 7 Professionnal 64 bits with SP1

I am based in France and my PC was purchased in this country.

What do I have to do to fix this problem ?

Thanks

BertrandM

Do the following:

1. Completely disable your antivirus software.

2. Re-download REX with a download manager, if you have not already.

3. Decompress the files with 7zip or WinZip.

4. With your antivirus still disabled, run the installer again.

Let us know how that goes.

Thanks for your reply.

Please let me know how to re-download without going through a re-purchase process.

Please disregard my last post above regarding re-download.

I redownloaded from the simmarket site through a link in the downloads of my account.

I keep the antivitus desable during this process.

After unzipping with 7zip when trying to open the setup.exe file I got the following message.

Translated from French, it says

"Impossible to open the installation package

.Make sure it exists and that you are allowed to access

or check with the resaler of this software

that the Windows Installer Package is valid"

Sorry for the trouble. What can you suggest from there ?

Thank you for your inquiry.

Please try the following steps first:

1.) Make sure your UAC (User Account Control) is set to never notify.

2.) Make sure REX has inbound/outbound access via your firewall software.

3.) Make sure REX has exclusion rights within your Antivirus software.

4.) Make sure you right click the REX icon and select "Run As Administrator"

Let me know how this goes.

Customer responded privately:

"Sorry for the delay, I have been travelling in August.

Yes the problem is solved. I followed your instructions, but the issue was still the same. So I had to search elsewhere and I found out that my navigator had an problem. For some mysterious reasons my set up did not allow Chrome to be updated. Once this was corrected, the installation went out well.
So many thanks for your kind support and sorry to have bother you with an issue which had to do with my PC and not your product."
