RESOLVED Runway textures loading delay

Recommended Posts

Hi Community,

I have got an issue with my runway textures while starting a new flight.

It takes a few minutes until the REX textures pop-up and replace the stock textures. (Just the runway! Taxi, water, weather etc. is fine)

It becomes really annoying if I start directly from the runway because sometimes I already took off before they appear.

I'm running REX as admin and got the 3.7.2013.0715 build.

Sorry if there's already a solution for this, i couldn't find it.

Thanks

Hi,

This isn't a REX issue. It's due to the fact your computer is having a hard time keeping up with higher-resolution textures.

Either turn down settings inside REX and/or FSX.

Hmm that's weird though.

My PC should be good enough and the other hd textures load just fine, only the runway textures keep making trouble.

Have you updated your latest video card drivers?   Also, can you provide us a screenshot of your FSX ->Display settings.

Yes, of course I have the latest drivers. Which part of the display settings? They are german btw...

Here is a picutre which shows the difference. The lower screenshot was taken just a few minutes later. The airport is EDNY.

This isn't a problem... it's an FSX bug during the time of year where it loads a snowy runway then loads a regular runway. It's a well-documented bug.

Just change the time to summer etc., and try again and you will see.

I play while summer 90% of the time, so this doesn't effect the runway bug.

Do you have any other idea how to fix it or a thread with a solution?

I couldn't find anything about it on google :/

I already advised what this is in relation to, your best bet is to research it in other FS related forums.
