  1. Hello help needed. Through steam i have downloaded FSX and REX 4 but when I attempt any input on the REX configuration, settings and optimization screen it crashes out, I am using Windows 10. I have ended up with an initial install having FSX on C drive and REX4 on D drive. If this the problem how do I rectify. Thank You Jim H
  2. Hi, I installed the program as per instructions on the manual but when I try to install ant texture set I get a crash, everytime. I don't have any anti-virus or firewall installed. Thank you. David DD
  3. When I open REX and try to select the file path to my FSX:SE it just stops responding and crashes. I have followed the steps given here: http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/35419-REX-4-with-soft-clouds-crashing/ But received no luck on it working. I get the same error as the user here as well. Any idea on how to get this to work? Thank you, Asif Edit: This is the image that I receive when I re-installed the program http://imgur.com/6D0wqEE
  4. Hi, I recently began having problems with both products not starting up properly. The splashscreen loads up fine but instead of showing the proper menu screen after the loading is done, I get a black screen instead. Clicking on the icon on the Windows task bar causes it to be unresponsive and crash. I reinstalled both of the items listed here in this thread: http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/32524-install-problem/but to no avail. P.S. I have had the same issue before when I first got the products but installing the items in the thread fixed it. Thank you in advance.
  5. To REX 4 Support When i open the REX4 setup menu, it all the settings I put in, has been reset and everything is empty? If it type everything in: Weather engine, CGF location etc, and go to another page and come back, it will all have reset. You have any idea why this is happening? Made a small video to show it; http://vid46.photobucket.com/albums/f133/one1raptor/rex4_zpscee1a304.mp4 Thank you! Ricky Petersen
  6. I could get all the way to "Fly Now" and when I pressed the button to create the flight, the textures seemed to load in a nanosecond as compared with the 5 to 8 minute wait time previously. As you can see from the screenshot, only half of the screen is being utilized, and FSX hangs. Sometimes, by no means often, I'll get the Microsoft .NET Framework Exception from HRESULT:0xC000014B" error. I've tried the UIAutomation Core fixes - no luck. I'm grounded and don't know what to do. Please help. Thank you in advance! Scott Freeby.
  7. Hello, First of all, I wish you a happy new year. I bought REX4TD and used it with Prepr3d 2.0 since it out. Except the problem of Administrator account to create for installation for non English Windows version, your product is really fine. But since yesterday, I except serial crashes after configuring sky or water texture before flying. P3D2 starts and stops at 26% loading. The Windows logs tell there are errors of unsolved exception in writing with .net and another one concerns g2d.dll stop. I started again and again P3D2, I had same crash. As I have backup files, I restore P3D2 before patching by REX4TD and P3D2 works fine back. So there is something wrong. I can give you more information of crash log later as I'm posting at work. Thank you in advance for investigating.
  8. Hi All - brand new to both REX, this forum, but not to FSX! I downloaded REX Essentials today and just finished installing it. When I try to load it however, it instantly crashes (I get a windows error message saying that windows is trying to find out why it crashed). I never even see a screen from REX. I've tried running in both normal and admin mode. I'm running Windows 7 x64. The install process of REX went fine - no issues. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks, Brian Baltimore, Maryland / USA
  9. Hi. I have experienced a problem the last couple of days, and I have reason to believe that REX may be the culprit. I was flying yesterday evening from ENBO Bodø to ENLK Leknes in Norway. The weather was quite cloudy. I use GE Pro for my ground textures and REX for my sky and water textures. I always use real time weather and let REX install the appropriate textures - I never use themes. Shortly after take off I was flying through the clouds when suddenly my PC crashed completely, giving me a black screen and making a rather loud noise. The PC was unresponsive, and so I had to do a hard reboot. So I tried again, the same flight, and the same thing happened again - but this time the picture froze. Again I was forced to reboot the PC. So I tried again this afternoon, the same flight with similar weather. And I had as third system crash, in a similar location. I wondered whether it could be to do with a glitch in the addon scenery that I use for Norway, but I decided first to try to rule out REX as the cause. So I repeated the flight, but this time using my old Active Sky 6.5 and Active Sky Graphics. The weather was the same, but Active Sky depicts it slightly differently, and the clouds were definitely not as dense as with REX. This time I was able to complete my flight with no problems. Clearly the scenery is not the problem. I have tried to paste in screen shots here of my REX settings (Alt-PrtScn then Ctrl+V), but every time I try to send the post I am told "You must enter a post"!! Well this is a post!! So I am trying to send this without the screenshots. If somebody can tell me how to paste screenshots into a post, I will happily try again. I don't know whether this is significant, but I am using 1024 x 1024 for my 3D clouds and cirrus clouds, and I have a feeling I changed to this (i.e. from 512 x 512) just before Christmas. I had a similar system crash around that time, and the weather was cloudy. Today is the first day since then that I have flown using REX in cloudy conditions. Please could you give me some suggestions as to what may be causing this and how to fix it? As you can see from my signature my PC is pretty powerful, albeit 2 years old and no longer top of the range, but perfectly adequate for whatever FS9 can throw at it - or so I thought! In case it's of any use the current METAR at ENBO (approx 4 hrs later, but much the same as earlier) is as follows: 181820Z 11026KT 9999 FEW040 SCT060 OVC080 03/M04 Q0993 Incidentally I have checked the ErrorLog folder, and there is nothing for yesterday or today. Thanks for your help.
