  1. Hi, I have just made a fresh installation of Prepare3D v4 on win 7. Then I have installed REX4, Soft Clouds and Softclouds enhanced. No issues during the installation. Starting the application I noticed that the splash screen does not show the SoftCloud logo on the top (see attachment). I am assuming something is wrong as soft cloud seems to be not recognized by REX4. Could you please help in solving the issue? Thanks Massimo spash_screen.docx
  2. Hi guys, I am an owner of a REX4 TD wSC licence. I was juste wondering if by any means I could install Rex4 TD, standalone (no soft clouds), for P3Dv4 using my licence in an official manner ? Thanks
  3. Hi, I have FSX-SE and P3D. Right now, P3D 3.2. I haven't actually used REX 4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds since my initial install (actually, it's a delete-all and re-install), where I made a couple of updates to both sim platforms and have left things there. When I open the REX 4 control panel, I get a red-bar alert that I should upgrade to 4.8.2016.0926; e.g., not 4.8.2016.0928, which is in the filename of the zip file I downloaded from the site and in the ".msi" file contained in that file. If I click "cancel" on the alert-bar, and then navigate to the screen that has it and click on the "check for updates" button, it comes back and tells me that the product is up-to-date. This happens though the program info page shows 4.8.2016.0622, which I updated to in order to see if that would fix the strange update-alert behavior. So, I'm reluctant to update using the 4.8.2016.0928 file that I downloaded, since this all seems a bit out-of-whack and, I actually don't really have any immediate reason to upgrade other than to get rid of the messages. I do intend to upgrade P3D to 3.4, but I don't know if I'd need to re-do the REX 4 TDwSC texture changes or not, or if the ones that I've already done will break with P3D 3.4 or whatever... So, should I just go ahead and run the installer I downloaded for HF4 4.8.2016.0928 and just ignore the quirky message update mismatch thing? (BTW, if I click "ok" on the alert-bar, it tries to download a "rexinstall.exe" file that doesn't work because there's no ".msi" file, and this has been this way since I first installed REX 4, so I always go to the site and download the zip file.) Thanks, for any help you can provide.
  4. Bought from Simmarket Setup.exe doesn't run with message similar of that running a 32-bit exe on 64-bit Windows
  5. I purchased and downloaded REX4 Texture Direct HD with REX Soft Clouds from SimPlanet recently. 7 folders with 1GB and 1 folder with 190 MB were successfully downloaded but when I try to unzip them via the 190 MB folder using 7Zip, this message appears. "Can not open file 'G:\All Downloads From 29.03.2016\Rex4\rextdsc_sp6_hotfix2_20160325.zip'as archive" I have informed SimPlanet but it's a very slow process and I wondered if the REX crew had any ideas.
  6. So here's the funny thing - observation not support request although it may need patching!: Win7 64, P3D v3.2.3; REX Essentials + Overdrive used for weather engine; REX 4TD + SC (patched to SP6) used for textures I've noticed since installing the P3D v3.2.3 update as a series of install upgrades (Client, then Content, then Scenery) that it doesn't matter what I select in REX4 for Sun as the installed texture, it never changed. Now, I should qualify that by saying that I've really only noticed it since the arrival of Spring in the sim, when the small size of the sun prompted me to actually change the texture... It transpires that suneffect .cfg held in the %ProgramData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d V3 had not been overwritten since 04/10/2015 - so clearly any overwrite instruction by REX is not being handled. Now, I didn't do a full install to update - I followed the L-M recommendations for updating in sequence - unlike the `clean` install this does NOT specify removal of the created folders: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 (or the modified install location) %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 %APPDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files The conclusion I draw - for contemplation and discussion by the developers - is that the new folder prioritisation implemented in V3 is somehow preventing the REX selected changes, even though they are indicated as `installed` in the REX GUI. Perhaps this is something that needs looking into? For anybody else who does find a similar issue this can be resolved by simply deleting suneffect.cfg from %ProgramData%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d V3 and restarting the sim and after making any changes in the REX GUI. It will pick up on the `new` suneffect.cfg and install the desired textures - but then writing that suneffect.cfg to the folder so, of course, next time textures are changed, the same procedure needs to be followed. I suspect this may not be the only file that is affected this way.

  8. Hi, Can someone please tell me what on earth I have to do to get some support from this company? I have provided my order number / receipt details using the appropriate thread on this problem and STILL my original question is being ignored. I am trying to get through to someone using create > new topic on this website but most categories are greyed out so I can't even ask my question in the right place. I have purchased a boxed version of REX 4 texture direct with soft clouds (The Flight Sim Store - #FSS0462437) which will not update itself. Every time I start the program it prompts me to update then when I try to run the .exe it fails, providing this message: "This installation package could not be opened. Verify the package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package" PLEASE, CAN A MEMBER OF REX STAFF RESPOND? Thanks.
  9. Please assist, System: WiFndows 10, 64 bit OS, X64-base processor, i5-6200U CPU 2.3-2.4 GHz Software: FSX installed in Program Files (x86) folder with User Account Control turned off. What am I doing incorrectly? 1. After clicking OK to update your version of REX Texture direct and run the download, I encounter the following error: This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it… 2. After installing my theme to FSX and selecting OK to start flight simulator and select Fly Now, FSX is still displaying the standard graphics and not REX4.

  12. Hi I've had rex4 texture direct for some time and really love it, however my water color and textures our very "unnatural" for example around Hong Kong the water is a flat turquoise as well as at waterfront cities like St Maarten and around the Caribbean (pretty much every waterfront city) the water is one solid color which is not right comparing to your screenshots of what REX 4 looks like and other people fsx (who have rex4 obviously). thanks Alec

  17. I am having problems installing REX4TD, purchased from PCAviator. The files are downloaded as separate files that don't require unzipping. After entering my email address and serial, the following error occures: "The file 'png' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'rexte1.cab'. I downloaded the mentioned cab file several times, and placed it on the fsx machines hdd. It is installing on a separate hdd, dedicated for FSX add-on's only. I have no Firewall, or AV program running. I run the setup.exe as administrator OS is Windows 7 Pro, 64bits UAC is turned off Any assistance to resolve this issue would be highly appreciated.
  18. Hello I have FSX on Windows 7 X64 with REX4. When I fly from or land at default FSX airports, and it's raining, I get the lovely soaked wet runway texture loaded from REX. However, when I fly from any third party addon, such as UK2000 scenery, the wet runway textures do not appear. When it is raining, the entire airport ground is dry. Any ideas? FSX is installed on a separate hard drive, outside of the Program files folder. Thanks in advance. Matthew
  19. Hello, I just installed REX4, I am wondering what to do with the old program? or does the installation of REX4 replaces the old files? Thanks in advance, gito.
