  2. Hello I'm receiving a virus warning when I try and do an update on the REX 4 update menu. The file name is 4.3.2014.0814. The download will start, but then stops and gives me the warning. Any suggestions? Thanks Robert
  3. I have recently upgraded to REX Essential + Overdrive for P3D and now I can't get any real weather updates while using proxy. Previous version (REX Overdrive for FSX) worked fine with proxy while IE was configured to use it. Obviously something has changed how REX Essential handles internet connection. Would that be possible for REX to detect proxy? or maybe is there some setting in config file? I would appreciate if this works over proxy as most of my simming time I have to use proxy for internet access. Slawek
  4. Hello, I bought the amazing REX program and have it successfully running on my Main Server PC. I use Wideview to maintain the right hand cockpit view in a netwrok configuration. I would like to keep REX on the main PC as this also handles all my other P3D processes and is a 6 core AMD system whilst the Client PC is only a dual core which requires all its processing power just to stay on par with the Server graphics. I have read the instructions on how to setup REX over a network and my question is wether I can keep it on the Server PC and have it feed the client (in essence a reversalof what is explained you the help file available here)? many thanks Dwight P3D/REX on AMD Phenom II 1100T 3X6 3.30 GHz server P3D/Wideview Right hand cockpitview on AMDAthlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ 2.50 GHz client
  5. Hi, I haven't been using FSX and REX for a long time but started flying a few weeks ago again. REX worked reasonably well accept for some water issues that where never resolved. But now I've got your mail about the new upgrade but I can't find thespecific rules for upgrading from this version. I don't want to mess things up further then they allready are, so could you give me some pointers onhow to start?? Thanks, Michiel

  7. Hi everybody I created Water Textures in another blue Colors (brightness) and saved them. Now I have 3 times the same textures with 3 different names. For this reason I would delete 2 of them, but I don't find the way how to do this in the Manual. Please has somebody a solution? Regards, Heinz
  8. Since installing SP1 RTM, Ive been receiving notifications every 30 seconds for weather injection. Running in WX Plus mode. ERROR TRAPING FOR REX ESSENTIAL Class Location: metardata.add5LatLont Error: Data type mismatch in criteria expression. ERROR TRAPING FOR REX ESSENTIAL Class Location: weathertheme.generateSmoothWTfile Error: Could not find file 'C:\Real Environment Xtreme Essential\WxTheme\current.bgl'.mscorlib Further, Ive ran the current.batch file, so now there is a current.bgl file now to be read. I will test further, but I do not know if this is an issue at the moment. I wont really notice anyways since I turned off the green status bar update in the menu, but it is indeed updating every 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  9. Cannot load SP1 without being stopped by the message thumbs.db error unknown version? (From 1029)
  10. Hi all. About a week ago I got back to FSX after a break and had to install all of my addons. I installed REX and upgraded to 3.5.2012.1029 overdrive and created a custom theme. I clicked install and they installed just fine and came up with the "Your textures has succesfully been loaded, would you like to fly now?" message. I entered the game and started a flight, but noone of the textures from REX seems to be installed into FSX. I have no clue what's wrong. I have tried to reinstall REX twice and I it is now installed in C:\REX and FSX installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I am running FSX Acceleration. I hope any of you can help me. Thanks!

  12. I'm having almost the exact same problem with the exception that I did NOT get the memory message from windows appearing over the REX WX radar screen, though I did get the "Script error" message. My options screen is exactly the same as Juan 1097. Ive done everything recommended on this board, ie. deleting REX and the upgrades, deleting FSX, deleting REX folder, enabling hidden files to be shown and looking for other REX folders (they werent there anyway), turned UAC off, then I ran Auslogics Boost Speed to clean the registry, restarted the computer, re-installed FSX Acceleration in the C:\ drive (and ran it, no problems), then re-installed REX Essential then OD, then SP1 Beta 1, then SP1 Beta 2 (all to C:\REX), all with Admin priviledges selected in properties before installing, then I installed the simconnect.msi from the file in the REX folder. Not only does FSX hang with no recovery, but I've also been able to actually complete a few fights on occaision (my flights are generally all about an hour long), but as I'm taxiing in I get a message from Windows saying the program has stopped running and needs to close, I have no option but to click "close program" and that ends it. Several other times the this has happened on final approach as well. There was only one time after all of the reloading mentioned above that I was able to recover from FSX hanging.... I clicked to bring up the REX radar screen, right clicked the margin and clicked load weather and was able to resume the flight and finish it. Though it just happened to me again today and that method didn't work this time. Also when this happens, my cursor disappears when in the FSX screen but returns when on the REX radar WX screen or my toolbar. Hate to do this to you, but there's more.... I was running in WX Plus mode and there was never a green "Weather Injection Starting" bar across the top of the screen when the weather (which was set to every 15 minutes), the weather just kept changing automatically every few minutes, the clouds would suddenly be different with no smooth transition whenever the weather updated which again, seemed to be ever minute or so. Ugh, I hope all of that isn't as hard to read as it is type! REX is an AWESOME program!!! I sure appreciate all your hard work dealing with these issues. Thank you!!! PS- I've done no special modification to my computer, it's exactly as it was out of the box when I got, ie. no overclocking, etc. I've just updated drivers, other than that it the same now as it was from the factory.
  13. I have version 3.6.2013.0124 shown in REX screen. What download version should I use? I don't remember if this was a beta version on top of v. 3.5.2012.1029 or ? 14. Hi, I have REX Essential + OverdriveHD, Build 3.6.2013.0415. My problem is that when I boot up REX, the menu is shrunk, as if it isn't compatible with my resolution. Please see screenshot: Uploaded with ImageShack.us As you can see, the "important stuff" stays to the top left part of the screen, and the Minimize & Close buttons in the top right. So far, I've done a reinstall and then a redownload and reinstall to rule out the possibility of a bad install. Some more information about my setup that may be helpful. Please let me know if you have any solutions! Thanks!: FSX Dell Studio XPS 1640 Windows 7, x64 bit ATI Radeon 3670HD Resolution: 1920x1080 Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  15. I am trying to install 20211029 to 20130415 in FSX, Windows 7. I am getting error, " Can not upgrade due to Not Enough Disk Space." I am migrating to the REX Essentials Folder and I have 2.7 Terrabytes on my hard drive....that should be enough. Any ideas?
  16. Hi there I upgraded to the new version. Since then following problem. I usually start the REX and get the green radar screen. Then I start FSX. I put my plane on the airport of my wish and then press load weather on REX. Before the upgrad the REX started to load the weather and show the map on radar. Now the radar stays green and no loading. The weather only loads if I put the setting of "loading every 15 minutes" and then start into FSX. Before upgrade i could set my plane on an airport without "fly now" and manually load the weather. I select an airport ICAO name to view weather at departure location. I select Fly and REX weather engine opens. I launch Shade with FSX, select my aircraft and departure airport to begin my flight. REX weather engine still stays with green loading HMI... I tried two times to uninstall REX Essential, cleaned PC with CCleaner, then re-install REX Essential by changing location and name on HDD but with no positive result. 22. I got some missing textures after upgrading to a new video card, and had to re-install FSX (manually editing the fsx.cfg or allowing FSX to create a new cfg file did not help). After verifying that everything was working fine, I let REX create a fresh backup of the original FSX textures after the re-install, and would like to remove the old backup. How? I thought I had located the backups previously, but since the latest service pack I can't seem to find them. Thanks,
