  1. Greetings - I uninstalled all remnants of REX and cleaned the registry as suggested with CCleaner. I installed REX essential+OVERDRIVE HD V3.1.2012.1028 and had textures available. I installed the ....1029 update and the textures disappeared. I then installed the ....1029 to ....0415 Service Pack and textures still do not appear. Running the file as Administrator and no joy. I'm using a Windows 7 64-bit box. Please let me know if you need more information and any tips for getting up and running. Thanks, Ron
  2. I used to have REX 2 with overdrive, but I have recently uninstalled it and donwloaded and installed REX Essential plus, build No 3.2.2013 1028. Then downloaded the service pack 1 so build is now 3.2.2013 0415 and I would be most grateful if you could point me in the direction of the overdrive textures please. Many thanks order no #FSS0039104
  3. I have been unable to load weather themes of any sort. Lots of forum reading discovered an error report. Did a fresh download and install, followed all the rules etc, have active P3D. I am again getting error messages and no weather. I've searched the forums and re-read the manual 2-3 time to try and fing my error. I haven't figured out how to attatch the error file so here are trhe 2 errors I'm getting. error traping for REX essential error: object reference not set to an instance of an object class location: ucweatherControl.setweatheroptions error: object referance not set to an instance of an object class location: frmMain. load main themewindow error: C:\REX essential plus overdrive\images\tropical\18\ Windows Home Prem, 64bit 12GB Ram evga gtx 580, 3GB x 2 Standard-no OC 750GB HDD no network P3D v4+ Internet AVG AV--off fiorewall no FSUICP installed, only played with controller settings UAC off c:\REX c:\p3d Thats all I can think of Thank you
  4. (REX Essential Plus with Overdrive) build 3.5.2012.1029 I have FSX Gold Edition with UTX which were working fine together. I bought and installed REX and loaded FSX directly through REX. I got the 2 error messages below upon loading. I moved REX, UTX, and FSX out of Program Files, ran the CCLeaner, re-installed all three programs, completely disabled my Anti-virus, and tried again with the same result. Here is the error message, followed by my system setup. It will load, but it is very buggy; the clouds will turn into big blocks for example. It seems to interfere with UTX and the streetlights will flicker in and out of existence, also it causes a delay in the drawing of scenery, and if I look left or right, everything appears green for a few seconds until it draws it in. If I just open simulator without going through REX, I do not get the errors or the lag, although some of the textures I previously loaded from REX seem to still be in place and working. I must also mention, I do not know much about computers. Also, would upgrading my graphics card help with the lag? I was under the impression that this would run well on my system, it is not even a year old. Thank you so much for the help! The Error Message- See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect, Version=10.0.61242.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. 7. I down loaded the proper upgrade for myREX 3.5.2012.1029. It appears to install but I get the following message: Could not load file or assembly"Neodynamic.SDK Image Draw" System cannot find file specified. I activated REX and it appears to work but something must not be in the system according to the message. I did look for that file on my system, just in case, but it's nowhere to be found. Any suggestions? I'd appreciate any help as I'm completely lost on this. Jack Fentress .
  8. I had bought Rex2.0 a long ways back. I purchased REX Essentials Plus from the web. Am I able to upgrade to plus overdrive for free or do I have to buy it seperately?
  9. Hello all:i have the following question, sorry if this came up but cant find it anywhere. im starting with REX 2.0 with overdrive , build 2.5.2010.1027. im downloading the upgrade to get essential plus with od build 3.5.2012.1029 .from the flow chart i was able to find, this is my best route... my question is :before installing should i copy backupfile with different name in same folder and copy exe file also in same folder . i saw this in documents about 1027 u8ser , does this apply for what i am doing also? or is it only for essential plus folks who do not intend to use overdrive .thanks in advancekind regards to all leo 96
  10. Hi just installed the service pack for REX Essentials + OD now on 3.6.2013.0415 Couple of issues have occurred. 1) I cannot turn off the in game notification message, even if untick it still appears in flight 2) My Vasi and AI aircraft lights are all bloated again (I run on 3 monitors) I guess this is because the update re ticked the aircraft/runway lights etc boxes. Any way of undoing what this has installed? 11. Hi, I have a small problem with my REX essential plus overdrive. The problem appears when weather engine loads the weather. During loading phase sky starts flashing but only on time of weather updating. Between loading phases everything is normal. It only happens with standart WX. Could you help me to fix this issue? Thanks for help.
  12. Hi. I lost my HD and am having to re-create my Prepar3D environment. I just reinstalled REX Essentials w/OD. But it's prompting me to re-purchase my Prepar3D key. 13. I am attempting to install the SP1 Beta 2, the first link provided to us under the FSX support forum topic "Correct Install" (http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/25439-correct-service-pack/) before installing the new Service Pack because I have to per the instructions in that post. The install error I am receiving says "This program cannot update the installed version of REX essential plus - Service Pak 1 (Beta 2) because: rexrepairdb.exe: unknown version. Please help, Larry
  16. Hi, I ran into a real donnybrook trying to update to the newest version. Long story short i downloaded my ex plus from flight sim store after many attempts to re install off of my REX v 2 dvd 514 version and my overdrive dvd I bought from flightsim store as well., Ironically i purchased these on dvd to avoid the trouble i have now . so on to it I downloaded my version of REX ex plus version ending 1028.I then attempted to download the appropriate version from support section but during the file extraction processes I get an error cab file 13 and 14 missing. this happened twice after downloading and trying it twice I need help. I suppose the overdrive version i have on dvd wont match as the version it was meant to update was ending 611.......quite confusing I realize. help me if you can.
  17. REX 2 Essentials + OD. After reformatting my hard drive, moving FSX and reinstalling REX several times due to mistakes on installation I think my serial number may have timed out.I get message "invalid Serial Number". I purchased REX from PCAviator and the disc had to be remastered before it would install properly but I have re-installed it at least twice successfully.
  18. Hi, I can't get the weather engine to work at all. I had a look in the error log and found the following: ERROR TRAPING FOR REX ESSENTIAL Class Location: frmWxEngine.loadWeatherEnginePlus Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Are you able to suggest a fix or help with this issue? Thanks Ian
  19. I reformatted my HD some time ago and moved FSX to the root: C\FSX. Today I finally decided to reinstall REX Essentials +OD build 2.5.2010.1027 from original disc + upgraded to build 3.5.2012.1029. Both are installed to the FSX folder. I then read the manual (which you can't see until you install the program) and I became confused about proper installation. I'm assuming from another forum question that REX should be installed to the root of C:\ and not in FSX? If that's correct is there anyway out of the mistake without removing both builds?? I have no idea if FSX and REX are working correctly. I booted up FSX just to make sure it could find REX and haven't tried to fly. I have the original disc plus an extracted copy of the upgrade if I have to reinstall. Using FSX Gold, Win 7-64 bit, REX Essentials +OD.
  20. When I press on the FLY NOW properly appears green WX radar screen. If then my FSX is started and I select the Airport the WX radar screen for blinking but does not automatically load the weather and map. No map is displayed. If i press load weather it does not work. In the last version and the beta 1 and it worked perfect. But if I select the Airport and start the fsx and go to the airport the weather is load an REX is working very good. After loading the airport and I finish my full screen mode and go to the WX Radar Screen the map will be displayed. The REX Team do a very good Job. The weather works and look very good. In the WX Plus Mode the ATIS and the Metar data works better. In Germany the ATIS an the METAR Data very nearly. In Austria is very Bad. The METAR and ATIS Data very wrong. Please Note, i use Overdrive. The funktion load weather from the WX radar screen or automatic load after 1 minute worket with beta 1 perfect. When i install Beta 2 it doesnt work. It s not a problem from a antivirus programm because i tested it. I make a copy from my HDD for a test. Please Note : REX Overdrive work perfekt, without the load weather option by start fly now. If i load the fsx with my airport it works always perfect.
  21. Hello my name is Lewis Rigor. Am a retired Naval Avaiator. I just downloaded the SP1 update and cannot get it to work. My build is 3.1.2012.1028. I downloaded the update via your form above. I ran as admin and it is as if I have done nothing at all. Any help would me great. I am a computer dummy so please be gental
  22. Purchased 2 days ago, latest build 1029 of REX Essentials + O/D. The textures are not installing, although it runs through the Install process and builds all folders and files in to the REX / Themes / Temp folder I only see a total of 16 cloud files appear to copy over to the FSX / Texture folder; cumulus01.bmp various other cirrus_blah .bmp files total of 16 bmp's If I view the contents of that folder by date modified, there are no other files installed / copied over, and no folders copied over (assuming they are all supposed to copy over from REX) When I FLY NOW, the textures do not show in FSX and it ignores any resolution or other settings I created in REX options tab, reverting to whatever Settings were in FSX When running FSX, the only thing I can see which looks visually better is the clouds Real time weather messages flash up across the top of screen Contents of my error log only includes; ERROR TRAPING FOR REX ESSENTIAL Class Location: frmWxEngine.loadWeatherEnginePlus Error: Error creating window handle.
  23. I just installed the new SP1 into REXEssentialsPlus+OD, and now in flight, the green weather loading bars, one for weather data being assembled, and the other for weather loading successfully, are appearing in flight about every two minutes. There`s only a very short time between the two bars before they`re gone, but then two minutes later, they`re back. There seem to be no way to stop this no matter what I try, even with setting the weather loading time to 30 minutes. I was upgrading from RexE+OD 3.5.1012.1029. The new version with SP1 also seems to take a lot longer to load to the desktop when you click the REX icon. Maybe it's just new update install jitters, but if this continues and no cure, I guess I`ll have to uninstall all, and reinstall back to the previous version; the green bars popping up every two minutes are absolutely distracting. Thanks - Rob
  24. Up until today, I had build 3.5.2012.1029 installed. Then I did today's upgrade build install. Everything ran correct from the exe, but when I open REX from desktop (either using UAC or not), it goes right into the Configuration Manager page. Now the problems start: When I go to click the needed RESTORE button, I enter my login info. I keep getting error messages saying it can't be verified. I'm entering the correct information. For kicks, I even clicked the 'I forgot my password' link. As suspected, the username and password matches what I've been entering. REX will not run now, it keeps opening to the configuration manager page, Then it starts all over again. Screenshot below:
