  1. Hi there,

Those are not duplicate files...if you notice they are all in different folder paths. They correspond to the textures in each of the individual texture sets with all the different options (heavy/light wear, etc).

  2. Just to confirm, you did do the above steps on BOTH the REX folder and the P3D folder?

If so, we ask that you send an email to our Tier 2 Technical Support Staff at support@rexgamestudios.com

Please provide a link to this post in your email.

Thank you for your patience as we try to help you resolve this.

  3. Let's try just using the new update installer...the update installer will try to uninstall the previous version of the program if it finds it installed. Please right click on the new update installer, and choose "Run as Administrator" (a good precaution even as an admin user since there is a higher administrator level above your account), and see if that can uninstall it OK.

  4. Hi there,

As Tim mentioned, the textures are replaced for the buildings, jetways, runways, etc; and the vehicle models and textures are replaced, but nothing about gates or any other property of the airport is modified. Worldwide Airports is purely "cosmetic" if you want to think of it that way.

As for Texture Direct, the runway and taxiway textures in Worldwide Airports are much nicer and integrate with the rest of the airport look and feel, so you could disable the runway textures/lighting in Texture Direct.

As for your final question, it's a bit of a complex answer...Worldwide Airports covers all default airports around the world. The default textures are all replaced. Most of the airports in the simulator borrow from the same set of textures for their look, so with Worldwide Airports they will still borrow from a single set of textures but they will all be our enhanced airport textures. The goal is to make ANY and ALL airports pleasant to fly into. :)

Now there are a few exceptions...back when FSX was being developed the ACES team developed some custom assets for certain airports in addition to using the default assets; these airports are listed in the link below, and KLAX and KLAS are on there. For these airports, the default assets are modified but the custom assets are not, and it is different for every airport. We are working on replacing the custom texture assets as well, which is what our free Airport Packs are for; currently KSLC is released, with KDCA in active development, and the goal is to develop for all the airports on the list.

Please disregard previous post!!  I found out what you must do to make it work.  After loading your flight plan in FSX and importing the plan into SkyForce, you must Refresh the Weather!! After doing so, you are given option 3 and 4 - Departure airport weather and Arrival airport weather. I do have two questions: How often is this weather updated and would it be possible to express the Pressure in inches instead of Milibars? Thanks for your help!!

Glad you figured it out! Our weather updates on our servers 6x per hour (every 10 minutes), which is also how often the weather engine updates. And to change the pressure readings, go to the Settings (the 'gear' icon) and click on the Engine tab, and you will be able to enable imperial measurements there.

(Hopefully, someone will tell me one day how to get rid of the annoying Fahrenheit conversions from the weather briefings when all you want is Celsius and HPa)

The above is for you too...go to Settings -> Engine to disable that.

  8. Please provide the screenshot that Tim requested at your earliest convenience. In addition, please try the following steps:

1.) Make sure your UAC (User Account Control) is set to never notify.

2.) Make sure REX has inbound/outbound access via your firewall software.

3.) Make sure REX has exclusion rights within your Antivirus software.

4.) Make sure you right click the REX icon and select "Run As Administrator" Let me know how this goes.

  9. Hi there,

First, as to the double slashes, that is purely cosmetic. It is not indicative of an installation issue, every log looks like that.

Second, it looks like the clouds are applying. The issue is, installing textures does not change the way the clouds are placed in the simulator. That is controlled by the weather engine. The default simulator weather engine does a very poor job at representing realistic cloud structures, so even with improved textures it may still not appear right. If you use a weather engine, I can guarantee it will look more like our screenshots!
