  1. Hello REX community, I have got an issue with REX 2 Overdrive. Whenever I can see the REX clouds on my screen, my fps goes down 50 percent, but if I look down at the floor or the ground, it goes back up to 30. I have my textures set to 1024 and 512, I really don't understand why I am experiencing this. I even tried putting my weather settings on absolute zero, still to no avail. Help would be much appreciated!
  2. And also, I don't know if this is normal but is the sky suppose to look like this? The sky looks like a low - res bitmap. http://s1279.photobucket.com/user/Hendu12/media/2013-10-10_18-51-35-536_zps5045f2cd.jpg.html
  3. Hmm, yeah that's pretty interesting. It seems like 4096 would be much better wouldn't it. I am with you flyinion I would love to have a brand new setup, I just wish I had the money lol, I just got fsx fixed about a week ago, I couldn't fly the darn thing the whole summer, talk about aggravating. Well hopefully it will be smooth sailing for us (or flying)! One question, is there a good scenery addon for the US that doesn't take a toll on frame rates? Thanks!
  4. Hi everybody, I got a question. Do you lose alot of quality when running on 1024 textures? Compared to the HD which is better I know, but my machine can't run them. Does anybody else here fly with 1024 bit textures? Thanks, Matthew.
  5. Sorry for the late post, but I just wanted to let anyone who reads this know my solution to the problem. I copied all of my REX files onto the hard drive I was installing on, and I installed from that file. Thanks, Matthew.
  6. Hello everybody, I started this topic so we can discuss the big ordeal DX10 vs DX9. Many youtubers have posted videos showing how they use DX10 and how good it works, I can't seem to agree. I have tried several tweaks and adjustments but I can't seem to make any use out of it. It slows down FSX quite a bit, I can barely fly with it on. Anti-aliasing is another issue, I can't seem to get that work without having jagged edges somewhere. Mainly what I am asking is, if any of you are using DX10 please let me know, it is 2013 and I would like to make the move to a new dimension in flight simulation experience. Thanks, Matthew.
  7. Hi guys! I was curious, can you tweak the REX Weather Engine for peformance? If you have any tweaks please let me know. I am trying to get the smoothest peformance out of FSX but I have running the weather with the crappy default FSX engine. Thanks, Matthew.
  8. Hey guys I actually fixed it a while back! Turns out that I needed to set the clouds to high and the cloud resolution to 1024x1024 thanks for the help anyway!
  9. Hey timest nevermind about the whole thing, a couple guys from this flight sim group I am in helped me fix it! Thanks so much for your help!
  10. Yes I have used it, what a great tool it is! And I have setup and tweaked fsx to my likings but when I installed REX it screwed that all up . I really don't understand why it is doing this, I have heard several people say that REX actually improves frames. And I even tried my clouds on 512 x 512 and still sucks, my computer should run it fine. I mean I know that trying to max out FSX is like trying to wake a sleeping fat guy on your couch, but come on REX should be making it better. I really do not understand . May we chat so I don't have to wait half a day before I get an answer? I would really like to speed things up, and sorry if I sound like I am angry at you or anything I am not, I really appreciate your help, I am just ticked off cause I have been waiting months to get REX. I guess we are going to have to setup a specific time cause I will not be on here the whole time.
  11. Lowering the resolution to 512x 512 didn't make much of a difference, can somebody please help me I worked hard to get this addon and it is not paying off .
  12. Actually I am wrong about the themes, turns out the themes that have more clouds make more lag. I really expected my new computer to do the job I don't know what to do I can't fly with frames like that it makes it harder to fly.
  13. You can call me Hendu, my computer specs are: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition 3.4 ghz, 8gb DDR3 ram, PNY GTX 460 1GB, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and FSX installed on a seperate 1TB hard drive. And yes I have textures on 1024 x 1024 and I still get about the same, I swear this does not happen when I select a FSX weather theme.
