  1. that is interesting. I downloaded the file and it passed an inspection my malwarebytes. Since there seems to be an installer, and according to the docs, an uninstaller, I will give it a try. If it does not work well, I will assume that the REX Texture Direct Program will remedy. I may be playing a bit of Russian Roulette with FSX, but this would not be the first time....:-). i will let you know and post a picture or two. Thanks. Sherm
  2. Here is the link to the ORBX discussion https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/147048-product-request/?tab=comments#comment-1295288 I did a google search for the file before posting here. This is some of what I found http://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/58/359 The Author is Tim Fuchs. Is that you? thanks for looking into this Sherm
  3. Over in the ORBX forums, mention was made of the above program. I wonder if this is a legit and safe program supposedly it improves road and highway textures. Any thoughts or suggestions? For the moment, I remain suspicious. Thanks sherm
  4. For the record, I am very happy with REX Essential HD+OD which I have enhanced with Soft Clouds. it all works well, and I have found no need for any other enhancements. Sherm 2016-12-12_17-30-51-27.BMP
  5. Thanks, that is exactly what I was confused about. Do you know when or if the Beta will go RC? thanks Sherm
  6. I am somewhat embarrassed to ask this question. I currently have REX build 3.4.2014.1126. Is that the latest. If not, what Service Packs do I need to add. I am not interested in buying any add ons. I just want to be assured that I have the most current of what I have bought. btw, everything works well, with no hiccups. Thanks, Sherm
  7. Hello Eduard,

Everything I have read and personally experienced suggests no conflict whatsoever between any REX and ORBX products. They do not interfere with each other. Just make certain that all software is installed correctly, and be sure your ORBX software is layered correctly using the Global layering tool and that Vector is correctly installed. It should layer itself correctly. If you have not yet used the VECTOR Airport layering tool, do so before the next time you fly.

  8. Thanks, Times...ordered paid for, downloaded, installed. I am not sure I can see a difference. But, I was flying close to dusk, taking my Cessna 150 trainer out for a spin...well, not really.... Anyway, no tech problems that I can see. Thanks for the info... Sherm
  9. Sorry, but I am a bit confused. Can I use the New cloud package only with REX essentials, or do,I need rex4 as well? Thanks. Sherm /
  10. I agree, however uninstalling it on my system impacts more than IE. Windows Explorer folders and other Windows functions start misbehaving as well. Unfortunately, I'm locked into using KB2670838. I found this on a google search...might be relevant to your issues http://www.softpedia.com/blog/Botched-KB2670838-Windows-7-Update-Workaround-Found-382157.shtml Sherm
  11. From what I read on Orbx and in a general search, that KB is a killer for a lot of W issues. uninstall it, and use another browser to replace IE 10 or IE 11. Sherm
  12. I think the best new development for FSX is Steve's DX1 Fixer. Here is a link http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=2630 and a review http://mutleyshangar.com/reviews/bc/dx10/dx10.htm The review says the best forum for DX10 is at avsim. Actually, it has moved to http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?92-DX10 This should give you lots to ponder....:-) Sherm
  13. As I understand it, REX4 is more about textures and does not have its own wx engine. Thus, you would need what you have to create real world weather. Also, one of the mods said that 4 will have its own wx engine, but it is not yet ready for download yet. Sherm
  14. I never use sbx..FSINN does the job, and there is a download link at Vatsim. Btw, though t he FSINN developers no longer support the software, there is a wealth of information and data through VATSIM, especially from a hobbyist named James.
