    Hello.

Since the project has been in development for years and on hold, maybe add the opportunity for it to work with X-Plane 11 as well, as it's the rising future simulator right now.

We know the same architecture is used among FS and P3D, but that architecture is quite archaic. XP11 being more recent, allows for a better experience.

    Any positive thoughts on this?

SIMAIR is being developed to work with all platforms in mind.

wow, I am so excited to see something about this, I'm still running my airlines on FSAirlines and FSEconomy.  I would love to have one product that will do it all.

At this point, I don't see me so interested in the force programs as I am in the process of migrating over to Prepar3d v4, and don't have the resources to have a lot of beautiful clouds.

Hearing that your working on HD airports is nice too.  It'd be nice if someone would fix all the default AFCADs.  With the new addition for GSX I have to edit every parking spot at every airport.

Anyway, thanks for the update and hope to hear about more soon....  thanks

We have not given up on this.

  3. First, please accept my apologies for the very late reply.  Some of our staff have been taking some much needed time off before the final rush of the holidays.

When we first started REX we developed to have one product do all things.  This was our development philosophy from day 1 up until we started work on REX 4.

With REX 4 we decided to split all the features of REX Essentials into different parts.  The reason is because we found it trying to update one component of a MASSIVE program lead to many woes for customers to download such a large program again for a simple fix.  Plus, it gave us the ability to expand the products as individual products.

REX 4 has now led to REX 5 the "Force" products. This is where each product will specifically specialize in a key area of flight simulation:

So here is the break down of the current products and their focus:

FOR CLOUD MODELS, TEXTURES, SKY, SUN EFFECTS, MOON, LIGHTNING EFFECTS, SOUNDS, AND WEATHER:

REX (5) Sky Force = Focuses on specifically the atmosphere and weather elements.  All textures and cloud models center around the weather engine and its rendering.

    FOR AIRPORT TEXTURES:

REX (5) Worldwide Airports = Focuses specifically on airport enhancements.

    FOR ACCURATE WEATHER RADAR
WX Advantage Radar = Focuses on providing pilots an accurate view of the weather as they fly through it.

    UPCOMING PRODUCTS

REX (5) Weather Force = Is a very highly advanced weather engine that will be a free addon to REX Sky Force and replace the its current weather engine.

REX (5) Environment Force = more information coming soon on this product

There are other products and ideas, but we are not ready to talk about yet.

  4. REX ENVIRONMENT FORCE STATUS UPDATE: DEBUG PHASE
    Build: Release Build
    Update: 10/29/2018

Beta cycle testing review has been completed and we have a rather large fix/change list.  We will be starting the Charlie cycle of testing within a week or so.  We will likely be going into a Delta cycle of testing too.

Next Update: Monday, November 12, 2018

  5. REX ENVIRONMENT FORCE STATUS UPDATE: DEBUG PHASE
    Build: Release Build
    Update: 10/22/2018

Beta Cycle testing of Environment Force will be completed tomorrow.  Our final review with our QA team will be later this week after we review the testing documents.

After we have our review we will be able to determine if we will need a Charlie cycle of testing or start the process for release.
    Stay tuned.

  6. REX ENVIRONMENT FORCE STATUS UPDATE: DEBUG PHASE
    Build: Release Build
    Update: 10/15/2018

We are in the midst of our Beta (second) Cycle of testing the main product.  Tests seem to be going well.  This testing cycle will be completed on Wednesday, October 25th.  We do expect to go to Charlie Cycle in our testing.  But we do not expect any major fix items.  More later.

I think the question many of us have that already own other products is this...  If I own Sky Force 3D with soft clouds and there will be an update adding some of the new features from Environment Force what exactly then will be the differences?  In other words, after updating SF3D, what will EF offer that I don't already have?   We all need to decide if we will buy the new products or if our current investment will do the job.  Kind of sucks to buy any companies best products only to have them create/release a totally new better version soon after.  It's the comparisons I think many want.  I know that's what I look at.  Point by point comparison of what each product does.  That way we can choose as much or as little as we want/need/afford.  :)

While you already clarified some things for me, Reed, I think a post at some point making sure everyone understands what the programs do.  It's easy to create software and think it's pretty obvious what each does, but based on my own experience as well as what I am reading others post in other forums and this one it is confusing.  Personally, I think Texture Direct should have been named SKY Texture Direct + Water.  :)

Anyway, just my .047 worth...  I know part of it comes from hating when I have 5 programs installed that do 3 things..  because of overlapping that either I didn't know was duplication or the differences are so very minor you really don't need them all.  If that makes any sense.

    Greg -

Without getting into too much right now we plan to have some LIVE sessions to allow people to talk with us so that they can get a bigger picture of what Environment Force does vs our other products.  Text and images do not really show what can be done.

  8. REX SIMAIR STATUS UPDATE:  ON HOLD
    Build: Release Build

    Update: 10/4/2018

I am sure most are thinking this project is dead. It has been awhile since we have updated the progress of SIMAIR.

The state of the project is currently on hold.  However, it is still very much alive.  We just haven't had the resources or time to put into.  The core of our focus has been solely on Sky Force, Weather Force, Environment Force, and Worldwide Airports.

However, once we have these projects polished, our focus will move back to SIMAIR.

  9. REX ENVIRONMENT FORCE STATUS UPDATE: DEBUG PHASE
    Build: Release Build

    Update: 10/4/2018

We just completed our Alpha Cycle of testing with the new interface of the product.  The test results were decently good.  There are several fixes that need to be completed as well as some changes to one of the interfaces to make it more understandable.

We are hoping to start our second (Beta) Cycle of three testing no later than Monday, October 8th.

We do expect to have to go through at least one more cycle of testing after this one.

    More to come soon.

I imagine EnviromentForce will give us what Texture direct gives us minus SkyForce.  For example, I still have to use Texture Direct in conjunction with SkyForce to get the complete textures.  My guess is EnviromentForce will replace Texture Direct.

This is not a texture program.  This program goes way beyond textures.

    Hi Reed,

Sorry if this has been asked before but this comment just reminded me about historical weather. Will that be added to Sky Force or will that be part of Weather Force?

    Cheers

We are going to include historical weather into Sky Force, but we are not sure what update yet.  We want to get the weather engine sorted first and Weather Force integrated.

Will this replace my REX TD4 w/Soft clouds. Currently im using REX TD4 w/soft clouds ONLY for Airport textures and Water Textures....EVERYTHING else in it is turned off. Im using SF3d in conjunction with REX TD4 but SF3d is used for my weather engine and for Clouds, rain, sun, sounds, etc. Will this Environment Force be the top dog which is the only Software that needs to be loaded up with P3d and is our new weather engine, cloud texture, water texture, airport texture, winds, rain, sound???

First, you should not need to run REX Texture Direct with P3D running.  It is only meant to be run once when you need it.

Environment Force is meant to work along with Sky Force.  It will improve the Sky Force weather engine until we release Weather Force.  However, Environment Force does much more than  just weather enhancements.  We will show more later.
