I just installed EF set up a flight from KAVX to L35. I never have had such a immersive flight in all my years with the hobby. I am using auto mode. The only thing I added was the auto texture sync button. Maybe their is a good reason it was set to the off position ? I am using REX Sky-force and a non REX weather engine, PTA and it all gives a Flying Environment like no other. I have noticed that shaders are working non stop when flying in and out of clouds which gives changing shades with the position of the sun and clouds amazing! One can argue that it can get a bit too bright adjusting at times but it is a brilliant program at least for me. Environment Force is the wow factor hands down!

I have to admit that I am reading some aspects of this debate with dismay, there's really no need for antagonism between users of different platforms. We share a common passion. I've been using sims since the early days and have just got back into it over the last few years. I returned with FSX:SE, and it was good to see how things had progressed, but it did not take long before I wanted more. I went to P3D. Sure, in the course of that I realised that some add-on investment would be lost. More importantly, as I migrated to P3D, I started to read of certain developers announcing that FSX versions of add-ons would no longer be developed. I'm not talking recent history here, so it's not as if the writing wasn't on the wall guys. I can only assume (emphasis on assume) that if new products were co-developed for all legacy platforms, a couple of things may happen: -costs may go up for all versions of the products -the timeline for new product would be extended Taking that into consideration, along with P3D adopting 64 bit architecture, I struggle to see the logic of staying with a platform that inevitably has a finite lifetime. Equally, given how products like P3D and associated add-ons can make more of new hardware architecture, ultimately it's a missed opportunity for the user. Now if FSX platform was 64 bit architecture already, then yeah, that'd be reason for concern, but it's not and never will be. New product development shouldn't necessarily be constrained by the lowest common denominator. I don't wish to get into a debate here, but just offer what I believe is a truly impartial view, having gone through the change curve already, and seeing how product lines are changing. ☮️

FSX is dead. Time to catch up with the times. Why would developers waste precious time on a severely dated 32 bit platform?

I tried to use the link to apply for the insider discount, but the link takes me to the Microsoft Office sign in. I put my email in and I get the following: "This doesn't look like a work or school email. You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead." Is there another way to apply for the discount? Thanks, Keith L

Please be patient as at this time we are experiencing a heavier than normal workload. The developers are working as fast as accuracy will allow...

Sorry, I misunderstood you. In fact Come to this section every time. I always have some complaints. Maybe it's because I see too many "this week" and "soon". And one missed appointment after another I would rather see REX say, "There's no exact time.“ I don't want to help them remember their promised time. Maybe you're right. We need to keep our eyes open.

The problem lies in your simulator, not in EF. Not possible as FSX is too limited.
  22. 1 point
It looks like REX has left FSX users with their newest product, Environment Force. So will you still support your other products which is compatible with FSX?
  23. 1 point
Please delete- I found the answer.
  24. 1 point
I know what you mean. But there are tens of thousands users who use it exactly as that: as a personal/consumer product. And LM are pretty aware of that but do just "ignore" it. Like they ignore if you buy the 54 USD academic licence which is "only for students" when you are not one.

Successful installation, and is experiencing, I have to say, this is a very pioneering software, visual impact is very strong!

I'm wondering how you come to this conclusion, i've never read a statement in this direction. FSX/FSX:SE is in my opinion an 32bit dinosaur which is kept alive artifical and just binding developers resources for modern sims like P3D and XP.
  28. 1 point
Maybe because FSX doesn't support shader tweaking on the fly, so how do you think they should make this to work on FSX?

Hi, If the simulator SDK opens up for us to be able to accomplish this, you can count on us adding this feature.
