Virtual Flight Service Station

We realise that weather doesn't just stop with making pretty pictures. We are taking this platform to a more realistic level. We have integrated our weather platform to create the FIRST Virtual Flight Service Station.

In this Virutal Flight Service Station you will be able to create a realistic flight plan based upon FAA standards and file it to our virtual flight station. The VFSS will take your flight plan and make recommendations, approve, or disapprove your plan based upon real-life weather conditions or your custom "Weather Scenario".

For the first time, a weather platform is brought into your flight experience to help you avoid weather situations that might put yourself or your virtual passengers in danger. In this flight planner you will be able to view real-time PIREP's that have been created by other virtual pilots in your area. This will give you a more interactive experience than any other flight simulator add-on around.

REX 2.0 Weather Engine

The weather engine is the underlying platform that dictates all of the weather processes in REX 2.0 and FSX.

This process has a far greater influence than in REX 1.0 and we even gave it a name called the Intelligent Synoptic Weather Processor or ISWP for short.

The ISWP is used in all areas of REX 2.0.

What is the Intelligent Synoptic Weather Processor?

It is a completely re-defined process that further expands on the original weather processes in REX 1.0 and takes them to a newer level of detail. Included are the same features in relation to configuring synopic, meso, and micro weather features, but the ISWP now interacts and allows the user more flexibility in setting visibility smoothing features and weather update smoothing features.

This is not just limited to current or archived weather data processing, but now it is further expanded to rather robust custom weather theme generator.

Thus, if the weather is boring where you live or normally fly you can have the ISWP create a unique weather theme that covers all seasons and various level of severity at the click of a button.

The ISWP now looks at over 20 different weather data elements to determine the best weather conditions and influence in the Flight Simulator environment.

How the ISWP Affects Textures

In REX 2.0 the ISWP now influences ALL textures, even down to what type of asphalt or concrete textures that matches wet surfaces for light to heavy precipitation.

This gives Flight Simulator an even more realistic look and feel. Now the feeling of being in an immersed weather environment goes beyond just what type of clouds are going to be in the sky.

Later, in further expansion to the ISWP it will be able to use special effects to further enhance your ride on the ground or sky.

How the ISWP Affects the WASys and Flight Planner

In the past we had a rather simplified flight planner. Taking ideas from real life flight planners, we have integrated the flight planning tools along with our ISWP platform to give the user a greater flexibility to dodge severe storms that might be in your path. Thus, while looking at the 20 different weather elements we can give the user a greater detailed view of the weather before you fly.

How the ISWP Affects the REX Weather Engine and FSX

We have now moved the WASys and integrated the ISWP into the REX weather engine. Thus, if you have mutliple screens you can view the WASYS as you fly and keep an eye on the weather.

Also, with the ISWP the weather conditions are more true to life, giving the user control over weather influence ranges and maximum visibility smoothing features not only horizontally, but also vertically.

With the ISWP now using over 20 weather data elements we can give far greater detail to the weather in Flight Simulator.

You can count on us to further expand this process in the future.
