Kevin Glover from VFR Reviews just completed a review of REX2 for FSX.
"Rex, in Latin, means king. I will happily call myself one of the subjects in REX’s benevolent reign and if I were to meet you, my reader, I would look you in the eyes and tell you this is indubitably the best $40.00 you can spend on your hobby. I can think of no more fit comparison to describe this product. It is vast in its complexity and sublime in its versatility. The simulator will never be the same again." Read the full review here.
There were a few items, that during the decompression stages, corrupted some textures, which slipped by us immediately before release. The weather engine depiction and a multitude of other key items reported by our users are also fixed. The FS2004 service pack is currently in testing and will be released shortly. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused everyone, but we feel confident that you will be enjoying REX to the fullest extent soon.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Real Environment Xtreme for FS2004 (FS9) released!
Phoenix, Ariz. - Real Environment Simulations is pleased to announce the release of the long-awaited software, Real Environment Xtreme for Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9).
"We've received many inquires about our REX technologies incorporated into the FS9 platform," said Tim Fuchs, developer. "FS9 is still an extremely popular and viable platform to develop for, and we believe we have taken it to the next level."
With almost three years in development and refinement for the FSX/FS9 versions of REX, carefully cataloging and photographing real life cloud structure, sky scenes, water scenes and airport environments, Real Environment Xtreme brings a full array of tools to the sim pilot. With a Flight Planner, a Weather Engine and a Weather Avoidance Tool, Real Environment Xtreme gives the sim pilot all they need to make that important bush, recreational, general aviation, or even commercial carrier flight(s).
This environment add-on not only enhances visual realism, but matches that realism to the underlying weather simulation, creating a whole new world in flight simulation for the FS9 platform.
Fuchs, partner Reed Stough and team are tirelessly creating innovative technologies for the flight simulator franchise.
The FS2004 version of REX is nearing release. Screenshots of the GUI, and how it demonstrates much of the same features as the REX/FSX version are available here.

Tim Fuchs (REX) and Reed Stough (WMX) are finally pleased to announce their partnership of Real Environment Xtreme and the integration of Weather Maker X technologies into the Real Environment Xtreme engine. The weather engine, though completely brand new, has been built off years of
development and experience in a tested and proven production environment. In this proprietary engine, we have taken the best qualities of our past and present work and enhanced them for the new Real Environment Xtreme Weather Platform.
"A weather engine is not just some background process unseen, but should be an experience. That has been our number ONE goal - Experience" states Reed Stough. Tim Fuchs adds "That is the primary goal of the Real Environment Weather Platform - to create the most real to life experience possible!" Mr. Fuchs also adds, "We've been working hand-in-hand on this partnership for some time now, and we believe the time has come to announce the merging of our technologies."
Reed comes to a team consisting of high-profile designers, consultants and pilots, including Bill Collins from Foundation 9. Many new technologies are being created for REX's debut release, just beyond the horizon.
