Hi,

Im using FSX+REX 2.0+Overdrive+UTX and have tried to makes the lights more sharp and distinctive, especially on runways and taxiways. Both close and in distance. Is there a way to make them clear and crisp without the blur that makes them look like small half transparent balls? Also if someone knows how to make the AI landinglights in distance more realistic so the arriving planes dont look like gigantic snowballs in the air, I welcome every idea how to fix it. The AI very far away should look more like the stars in the sky in FSX IMO, but moving and flashing of course :D .

Overall in FSX I think the lights are the most difficult objects to make look like in RW. Even UTX streetlights are not perfect. But many of the paywares like 737NGX have managed to make the lights look good. On the other hand, I never see them in distance.

My hardware is I5 PSU, 580 gtx, 8 Gb ram, 120 Gb Intel SSD, 1 Tb Hd, 2x24" monitors, CH yoke and pedals. OS is Win7-64 bit.

Ok, but can anyone tell me which settings I should use in REX 2.0 to get the most "concentrated" and crisp airport light without the blurry balls? I've tried a few, but I can't see much difference in FSX as in the images in REX I look at for choosing airport lights.

Ceram try altering the FSX.cfg file as there is a setting directly for this. I am on my mobile now and cannot direct you to any references to it online but perform a Google search.

Thanks for the answers.

I googled on the subject, and it seems to be severe limitations in FSX regarding AI landing lights. Many FSX users have complained about it. And with bigger screens (24" and up) it gets worse. Only way to reduce the ugly lights, as it seems, is to pick every single aircraft and install payware lights like Shockwave. Since I have installed so many Woai airlines it should take me weeks to fix it.

Thank you Alan, I found a fix for the airport lights called Nicks fix. The same you described. I tweaked some and now it's much better.
