That clip looks Awesome ....

I'm currently running REX OD at 4096 and my fraps are stable in the high twenty with a limiter
Is there any similarity with Essential in terms of performance or the latest is more demanding ?

No not really more demanding, just better!
I5 with 6 GB ddr3 - ATI gpu with 1 GB ddr5 FSX - Acc. and P3D

Well, we have given the option for better optimized water shader files... this will help ALL the problems some folks experienced around large bodies of water ;)

Namal, it's a good job the REX team take their time and keep everyone up to date with progress, otherwise you'd end up with a product as poor as your spelling and punctuation!

Probably (I think) like rain drops on the window cockpit, you know like in 2D. Think he mean that. I know it's not possible, cause FSX limit.

When I first purchased REX I was absolutlely blown away by the improvment it made to flight simming - I studied meterology and the clouds were pretty accurate for this to be improved to the extent that these guys are are doing is surely fantastic for all simmers around the World and I am sure all the simmers who will use this upgrade will be very appreciative of all the hard work put in by the REX team - this must be the ultimate add on for FSX - well done guys - just a question what will be the impact on FPS if running the essential at full welt in percentage approximately, I currently get a very good frame reate with FSX maxed and REX maxed so a drop will not be a problem however it would be nice to know. Well done the REX team

Okey....Im just one of the minions wondering...WILL THERE BE AN ANNOUNCMENT WHEN ESSENTIALS IS COMING OUT???
just wondering...Im SO tired of getting killed by these winds aloft that just nail me with NO warning whatsoever, causing me to overspeed - thereby getting a less than perfect flight report. I can understand these things happen in the "real" world - BUT SERIOUSLY?? EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT I FLY??? NO KIDDING. EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT I FLY I GET HIT BY SOME KINDA CRAZY COMPLETELY ABSURD WINDS ALOFT!!
thanks Tim for at least trying to fix this anomaly, its making me want to just wait for the release to fly again!!
(so when is it gonna be??????? just a hint?????)

love you guys

I believe I saw somewhere they said they would announce it the day before release.

btw, regarding the lightning flash video I showed first page of this topic. I have not observed any lightning illuminating the clouds like that in REX (just the base of the cloud where the strike starts). But it does not sound like Essential will be adding this effect, so maybe in REX Essential 2 ;D .

Cassis I'm not sure what you mean exactly.

Well I mean that 3D Real Cockpit offer the possibility to have your aircrfat shake with clouds.... so I was wondering if that would work going through Cumulo-monsters.. maybe one of the beta tester has this add-on to check ?

thanks
